Wairua Warrior Obstacles
Zig Zag Balance
Challenge your balance as you negotiate your way over a series of 2 inch boards. Careful … one slip will cost you!
Test your grip strength as you ascend up steep narrow tracks. Use rope provided or dig your fingers into the dirt stopping you from sliding backwards!
Ditch of Doom
Challenge your footing as you negotiate a narrow creek with a series of overs and unders. You definitely want to be in front heading into this obstacle!
The Grind 2.0
As it’s name suggests … this is a grind. Not only once, but repeatedly to guarantee you truly appreciate the beauty of our Pines. This will get your lungs and legs pumping!
This simple tyre drag is nothing but simple. Lean forward, head down and just keep pumping your legs. Careful you don’t start a fire with the burn coming off your rubber!
This is our signature obstacle. Negotiate a series of massive mud ditches – some with rope assists and some without. No use trying to avoid these, you are going to get wet and muddy!
Make sure you don’t hit the wall when you finally get to this obstacle. You may need to work as a team to get over this 8″ wall. No need to be shy about this beast – whatever it takes to get over!
Over & Through
Jump over a series of toblerone shaped walls then loop around and crawl through one of them. Simple obstacle but it will slow you down!
As the name suggests – one slip and this obstacle may change the way you speak (eeek!). Negotiate a variety of elevated posts – you will need balance and a little bit of luck to conquer this!
A chance to be a kid again! Traverse up an angled bar to midway where the bar will tip angling down to the dismount.
You will have to attack this slippery slope set at a 52 degree angle. Rope assists may or may not help you on this one but judge it right and you will be home FREE!
Got an itch that you need scratching? You will have to crawl long and low with this one and although you will want to see where you are going – I would suggest that you keep your head down!
Swing like monkeys as you negotiate a series of monkey bars, transitioning to a 3m traverse bar, then back onto a series of bars to finish. Time to work on your GRIP!
Not sure if you will smile or grimace as you cart these puppies up, up, and away … and then what goes up – must come DOWN!
Haul your cargo under a series of low tight cargo nets set pretty much on any section of mud we can find. Try not to get caught up in these!
Make your way up, across and down the inverted staircase only using your hands. Is this a stairway to heaven or ???
Get a Grip
Work from one end to the other by using a series of grips without your feet touching the ground. It’s all about holding on.
Carry 2 x 20ltr water containers around a marked course without putting them down.
Ascend a 4m rope climb, then control your descent. Seems simple but it follows on from some grip fatigue obstacles.
